JACK STEPHENS, DDS
Dr. Stephens earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, with a minor
in Biology, from Sam Houston State University in 1980, graduating in the
top 10% of his class, and a member of the National Honor Society as well.
He went on to complete his Doctorate of Dental Science degree in 1984 at
the University
of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, again finishing in the
top 10% of his class and a member of the National Dental Honor Society.
Since that time, Dr. Stephens has
maintained membership with a variety of professional
organizations and groups as a means of staying up with
the latest in the field of dentistry: he's a member
of the American Dental Association, the American
Academy of General Dentistry, and the Houston District Dental Society where he serves on the Peer
Review Board. Further, he takes part in Dental Study
Clubs twice a month.
In terms of ongoing education, Dr. Stephens has
completed a two-year advanced course in Implants and Orthodontics logging
over 1,200 continuing education credits. Dr. Stephens and his wife Robin have two children, Zach and Brooke. For fun, he enjoys fishing,
skiing (both snow and water), and scuba-diving.
ROBERT GATEWOOD,
DDS
Dr. Gatewood earned his Doctorate of Dental Science degree from the University
of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, in 1996. Immediately afterwards, he served
three years in the Navy, including a yearlong hospital-based general practice
residency at Portsmouth, Virginia. This residency provided him with an unparalleled
one-on-one time with specialists in a wide variety of health-care disciplines,
allowing him to gain clinical, hands-on experience right alongside experts
in each area.
Dr. Gatewood is a member of the Texas
Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, North
Houston Study Club and is certified to perform Invisalign (invisible braces). Dr. Gatewood's patients speak of him as having their best interests at
heart. And it's true: not only is he careful
to design and implement treatment plans to improve and
maintain their dental health, but he's accessible to his
patients before, during and after the procedures are over.
In fact, he makes it a
point each evening to personally contact each patient who's
undergone a treatment that day,
to see how they're doing, answer any questions or concerns,
and just monitor their progress. Dr. Gatewood and his wife Donna have two children, Grant and Alex. He's also
a sports enthusiast,
both as a fan and as a participant.
THE TEAM
We would like to extend our love to two coworkers that will not be seen here on a regular basis. We are looking forward to catching up with them through more social occasions. Bridget has taken a new position closer to home with a talented dentist in the downtown area. Bridget and her husband will be missed more than they know.
Mandy, one of our long-time hygienists has decided to become a stay-at-home mom for her two boys – and the third on his way. We are saddened for ourselves and the practice. Although we wish nothing but great experiences for them as they enter a new chapter in the journey we call life...
With change, though, comes new beginnings, and we have three additions to welcome. Please take a moment to get to know Kelley, Lindsey, and Dana. We feel excitement in the air for them to be a part of our team.

Kelley - Registered Dental Assistant
Kelley came to us by chance. She was looking online and discovered our website. She thought, that looks like a place I would like to work. Kelley called, and we just happened to be looking for someone just like her. She is knowledgeable in the field of dentistry, and she’s a kind, caring team player. What a blessing and great addition for us.
Originally, Kelley is from St. Louis, Missouri, but she moved here in 2001. She met her husband, Steven, here, and they have been married since 2005. Both are looking forward to starting a family. Kelley likes the outdoors, camping, cooking, and reading a good book. We welcome Kelley to our family. |

Lindsey - Registered Dental Hygienist
Lindsey is a hygienist, originally from San Angelo, Texas. After a few moves and completing her degree at Collin College in Dallas, she found her way to the Houston area. She has been dating her fiancé, Nate, since 2003 and has a full plate with planning their upcoming wedding, which will take place near St. Louis, Missouri.
Nate and Lindsey do not have children (yet), but their cat, Autumn Breeze, always entertains them. Lindsey loves when football season comes around, so she can cheer for the Longhorns on game day. (Hook `Em Horns!) Although not every patient is a Longhorns fan, Lindsey has truly enjoyed getting to know her patients and hopes to become a familiar face to everyone in the future! |

 |
Dana - Registered Dental Hygienist
Although born in Indiana, Dana considers herself a native Texan because she has resided in Houston area since she was three. One of the newest additions to our practice, she came to us shortly after she graduated in 2008. After working as an orthodontic technician for seven years, she went back to school, fulfilling her dream of becoming a dental hygienist. She is excited about meeting our patients and helping them have a comfortable experience.
She enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and she runs marathons. In 2008, Dana completed her first 10K marathon and currently plans to run a full marathon. |

Brenda-Registered Dental Assistant
Brenda has been a Dental Assistant for many years and has enjoyed working with Dr. Stephens for more than 17 years now.
Anyone who has had the opportunity to have worked with her knows her love for people, her level of care, and commitment to her patients.
Brenda has been married to her husband John for more than 25 years now. They have three wonderful children, Andrew, Ashlee, JohnPaul and a wonderful daughter-in-law Michelle. She devotes much of her time to her family and faith, and with her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening, running, and her sweet Boxer Sophie.
With her youngest one entering into college soon, and starting to feel that empty nest, her and her husband hope to travel, volunteer with their church and donating time to promoting Juvenile Diabetes awareness. |
 |
Darla-Front Office
When Darla came aboard in 2001, she instantly became family. We consider her the perfect fit to our puzzle. She is our jokester around here and loves to play pranks.
She is a true-blue Texas girl with no desire to move away anytime soon (nor will we let her). Darla and Stevie have been married since 1991 and have one son, Sammy. In her spare time, Darla enjoys spending time with her family, being creative, and making beautiful flower arrangements. |

|
Deana – Registered Dental Assistant
Deana started working here years ago. She left us for a time to be with her growing family, then returned to work with Dr. Gatewood in 2005.
Deana and Kevin have seven beautiful children: Kristen, Mason, Dane, Rachel, Amanda, Brooke, and Cole. Spending time with her family brings joy to her life. The children’s activities keep Deana busy with cheerleading competitions and baseball games. And when she can sneak in a little time for herself, Deana likes to rollerblade and ride her bike. Occasionally, you might catch her playing softball with friends. |

Kimberly-Account/Insurance Coordinator
Kimberly works like a secret employee that no one really sees, hears, or knows, unless someone owes money. Her nickname is "Money Lady" around here. Kimberly graced us with her presence in 2003, and we can’t imagine our team without her. She takes pride in being a native Texan. She has a smooth, warm East Texas accent that complements her sweet character.
Since 1994, Kimberly has been married to her cute cowboy, Kenny. Together they raise two rambunctious twin boys who are adorable! The twins keep the couple busy. She is very involved with her faith and church activities. She is learning to hunt and fish with her husband and boys. Kimberly looks adorable in her pink camo. Her downtime includes country dancing with her cowboy, eating chocolate, and most importantly, relaxing with her family and friends. |

Marla - Registered Dental Hygienist
Born in Housto and now residing in Spring, Texas, Marla joined our team in 2004. She brings a great expanse of knowledge experience to our practice. For over 11 years, she was a dental assistant and then went back to college. She went to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she obtained her license as a Registered Dental Hygienist, at DelMar College six years ago.
She said her vows some 10 years ago to her soul mate, Matt. Together they have two amazing children, Max and Addison, who keep them going. Marla loves the outdoors and spending time with her children. She scrapbooks, gardens, and bakes mass quantities of chocolate chip cookies. |

|
Michelle - Registered Dental Hygienist
Michelle is our newest addition to the family, having joined us in 2005. Her skill sets and experience make her an important asset to our office. Michelle is originally from Nederland, but after a few years in Kansas City and Austin, she and her husband, Phillip, settled nicely in The Woodlands. She has been married for over 13 years and has three beautiful children, Aren, Sean, and Tess. The family has a dog, Barkley, and a cat, Meyer.
Reading and running are some of Michelle’s favorite pastimes. Running has been her passion for the last two years. She has endured shin splints and a bruised heel. We haven’t quite yet been inspired to join her, but nonetheless, we admire her. She has run many 10K races, two half marathons, and she is training for a full marathon coming up soon. |
 |
Tara - Registered Dental Assistant
Tara came to our practice in 1996. She brings to our office a wealth of knowledge and commitment in the dental field that allows her to stand out in her profession. Her patience and kindness are highly respected by our patients.
She and Scott have been married since 1995. Tara is a dedicated and loving mother to her two beautiful girls, Kirbi and Kasidi, who keep her very busy with softball and soccer. Her daughters are similar to her in that they are caring, loving, and tender hearted, a little opinionated, and strong-willed. Tara is passionate about her family and friends, and she loves to travel. Her competitive nature shines when it comes to sports, and she has a passion for photography. |

Valerie - Registered Dental Hygienist
Val attended college in Wisconsin where she earned her degree and license to practice in 1985. She came to our office in 1989 and is the only team member who has had the unique privilege of working with Dr. Stephens for over 20 years! Val believes the reason she has stayed with us for so long because of our environment, which allows her to take care of her patients with the highest level of care. She enjoys developing long-term relationships with her patients.
Val has been happily married to her husband, Bill, since October 1985. Bill and Val moved to Texas in February 1988. She now considers herself half "Cheese Head" and half "Texan." They have a Giant Schnauzer named Riesen, their "baby." Her interests are downhill skiing, walking, traveling, wine tasting, reading, and playing cribbage, backgammon, and Texas Holdem, to name a few.
