What Are Same-Day Dental Services?

Same-day dental services are an option for most patients. The great thing about it is that our dentists can perform all of the restorations of the upper teeth in one visit, so you will be able to enjoy a completely new smile in one day.

This innovative technology can produce the following restorations in a single appointment:

  • Dental Crowns: Tooth crowns protect damaged and vulnerable teeth. Fractured, worn and badly decayed teeth can all be restored with a tooth crown. They are made from a variety of materials, but the most commonly used crowns today are made of porcelain, which looks like natural tooth enamel and is matched to the shade of your teeth.
  • Porcelain Veneers: Veneers are thin, durable pieces of porcelain placed over the front of a tooth. They conceal all the tooth flaws beneath. Like tooth crowns, veneers are matched to the natural shade of your teeth.

This is all possible because of an in-office technology called "CEREC."

CEREC Same-Day Dental Technology

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It's known as CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) dentistry. This technology scans, designs, produces and glazes veneers and crowns during the patient's appointment, allowing the dental restoration to be placed in one visit.

The scan portion of the treatment is completed with digital imaging, so there's no goopy impression tray. Once your dentist approves the design generated by CEREC, it will mill and grind the restoration from solid zirconia in about 8 minutes. The surfaces and edges will be smooth and aesthetically pleasing. And the glazing process results in a restoration that looks like healthy, attractive natural tooth enamel.
